There is no doubt that we are in a tough marketplace, with the uncertainty of Brexit and the continued pressure on money and jobs, companies want to hold onto their money if possible, without making a decision. The small business therefore must step up to meet this challenge, making their existing clients know how important they are.
I have always worked on the simple phrase that the “Customer is King”, and I think in this time of job cutbacks and money pressure this has been lost to many sales and service companies.
People are treated as numbers when they ring in a call centre, having to key in their details, significant numbers etc, they are then put on hold for half an hour or worse just told that they are too busy / unimportant and get bumped off the phones.
Automation can be a good thing, but it is causing frustration and resentment for the company which can’t be right can it?
If engineers are told they cannot fit parts to printers as there are budgets to hit, how can they do their job properly?
Salesman are under more pressure to get deals and therefore they sting the clients for a profit that is unreasonable, how can this be right?
Some of you may say nothing changes and it has always been this way, I must disagree.
The “big boys” in our market are making poor service the normal, we want to change that acceptance of average service.
